Teague Custom Marine sponsored this past weekend’s annual regatta for Dave’s Custom Boats (DCB) held in Lake Havasu, Arizona. As usual, a great display of DCB Performance Boats hardware was on hand in all vintages and sizes offered by the El Cajon, CA-based company, up to 41 feet. Almost 50 DCB’s were in attendance for the regatta and at least 25% of the fleet was TCM-powered boats.
The event kicked off on Friday, September 26 with an informal lunch run to Havasu Springs and a registration welcome party on Friday evening in the lakeside event tent at the host hotel, Nautical Beachfront Resort.
Saturday, September 27, started with a driver’s meeting and Bob Teague gave a word on safety.
Following the meeting was the poker run, which started after a DCB parade of boats through the channel and under the London Bridge. Bob Teague was the lead boat of the parade, in his DCB F-32 catamaran powered by twin TCM 1200 EFI’s.
DCB owners from all parts of the United States and Canada enjoyed a day of boating and were also able to have their boat photographed from the event helicopter by either Naples Image or Tommy Gun Images.
A little something for everyone, the event even included a “ladies only” photo shoot featuring Summer Richardson and her DCB F-32 powered by twin TCM 985 EFI’s.
The event concluded with a black and white themed dinner banquet on Saturday evening where the top poker hands were awarded and prizes were raffled. Special recognition was given out for certain milestones such as “oldest boat still owned by the original owner” – which went to Randy Frank and his DCB F-29 “Pegged” – a twin TCM 800HP carbureted power installation that is still running strong.
The relaxed atmosphere and camaraderie between the TCM and DCB customers and staff make this a “can’t miss” event of the season.
