TCM Adjustable Water Pick-Ups
WHY: The best place to capture water is at the very end of the running surface, as close to the keel as possible. The least disruptive way to capture water is with a knife edged tube with proper angle of attack to the water, and a trough leading into the pickup. The trough will actually suck the water into the pickup, like a spoon on a faucet. Surface tension… Physics. You can’t get a through bottom pickup aft and inside enough to be truly effective. Then there is the method of adjustment: a grinder. Then there is the issue, especially on surface drive cats, of water surface disruption in front of the propeller. It is amazing what 1/4″ of pickup dragging in front of the lower case will do to higher speed tracking.

RIGGING OPTION: The -12 flush bulkhead tees to the bottom of both sea strainers in a twin application and directly to the sea strainer in a single application. You can back flush the strainers and run the engines on the trailer with a garden hose without any hassle.
