An Unforgettable Week

Because the legendary Bob Teague (pictured above with his wife, Andrea, son-in-law, Josh Noack, and daughter, Cherilyn Noack) was inducted into the 2020 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame, his family decided to join him at the lake this year.

Between her father Bob Teagueʼs Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame induction, her fi rst visit to Performance Boat Center, a day on the water with the MTI family, the Super Cat Fest experience at Camden on the Lake Resort and much more, Cherilyn Noack—and her husband Josh, a first-time visitor to the lake—made the most out of their trip to Central Missouri.

During the week they were there, the Noacks were fortunate enough to catch a ride with MTI’s Randy Scism and his daughter, Taylor, in the Wentzville, Mo., company’s 390X demo model.

AN EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE: Cherilyn Noack, her good friend, Jessica Westphal, and her mother, Andrea Teague, had a great time during the Wednesday evening Shootout On The Strip.

Although technically I have been to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri before with my dad, Teague Custom Marine founder Bob Teague, it had been almost 15 years since my last visit, and a lot has changed between then and now. The event moved locations from Shooters 21 to Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill and it has grown significantly to include more than a week’s worth of activities. Between waterfront homes, expansive marinas, restaurants and impressive establishments, the lake, as a whole, has changed dramatically.

And since then, I’ve graduated from college, evolved into my role leading the marketing and administration efforts for Teague Custom Marine, gotten married and had two sons. So, clearly, this recent trip to the lake—with my husband, Josh, and my parents, Andrea and Bob—was quite different than my first visit to the lake.

Noack and her husband, Josh, enjoyed their stay at Camden on the Lake Resort, which is home to the amazing Super Cat Fest.

My highlight, of course, was being there to support my dad as he was honored with four other individuals at the Tuesday night induction ceremony and dinner for the 2020 Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame class. The recognition meant a lot to him as it wasn’t something he earned from his accomplishments, but rather because of what others felt he’s done to help support the event.

It was a little weird to be at an event without our own boat or without having to set up a booth or do much work at all really. That was kind of nice actually. And staying at the Camden on the Lake Resort was super nice—it’s a pretty cool compound and it was full of amazing boats.

The Noacks were pretty blown away by the amount of incredible hardware on display at the Camden on the Lake Resort docks.

Speaking of compounds, Performance Boat Center and the accompanying Redhead Yacht Club is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Between its impressive showroom, its expansive storage facility, its envious service department and its convenient launch ramp and dock space, Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach is one of the coolest boating facilities Noack has laid eyes on.

During her visit to the compound, as she called it, she spotted a Donzi 43 ZR (below) with Teague Custom Marine power.

We do quite a bit of business with PBC so it was awesome to get to tour the facility and finally meet the guys who call us regularly for various parts. It also was neat to meet customers in person who I’ve talked to on the phone over the years.

One of the newest members of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame, Teague Custom Marine owner Bob Teague was business as usual during the annual event at the end of August. As he has for several years, Teague was part of the Benne Media broadcast team (above left) with Rod Smith and Mike Clayton as well as the Speedboat magazine test team (above right).

Because the lake is so large and there’s so many places to go, I feel like we barely scratched the surface in terms of experiencing it.

Bob Teague was honored to have family and friends from California (above from left, Wally Semjenow, Josh Noack, Brogan Cooper, Tanner Austin and Timothy Vogel) and other parts of the country attend the Hall of Fame ceremony.

We did, however, get to experience how big the water can get on a busy Lake of the Ozarks day. Fortunately on one of those days, we were with the MTI team enjoying rides in both the MTI-V 42 center console and the new 390X cat.

That was a bit surreal because there I was boating on Lake of the Ozarks with Randy Scism—the local legend who created MTI—in an MTI. I have to admit I was a little star struck.

Overall, everything about the Shootout was great, especially the people. Everyone we met was hospitable and happy that we were there.

That was very refreshing and it makes Josh and I want to return again in the future.
