After the largely successful one-hour feature aired on NBC Sports last year, the network has high hopes for this year’s three episode format. As reported by Speedonthewater, “With the expanded programming, fans will get to see more race action, and the in-depth coverage will allow them to get a behind-the-scenes look at the boats and teams that make offshore racing so exciting.” The production team also relied on on-board footage from several of the race teams including Team AMSOIL Offshore, powered by Teague Custom Marine SuperCat engines. The Team’s patented camera angels and techniques pleased the production crew and much of the footage will be integrated into the show.
“There was some incredible racing and excited fans in Key West and we are looking forward to putting the shows together and airing it on NBC Sports,” said Mike McKinnis, Vice President/Executive Producer of JM Associates, the team that was on scene in Key West with a full camera crew used to capture the week of racing and events.
We are excited to see the outcome of the series, and if it is anything like some of the promos and teasers that have been released, it is sure to be a professional and exciting production.
