Mercury Racing Lab finished Maximus propellers are designed for high-performance, high gear case drives height sterndrive applications.  Excellent top speeds, great handling, good mid-range speeds and eye-popping planning performance for V-bottoms, cats and stepped hulls.  This is the prop of choice for reducing high slip with stepped hulls.

Lab Finished Maximus propellers are available with a pitch range of 23 inches to 35 inches (1-inch pitch increments) and diameters of 15 inch, 15.25 inch and 15.625".  If using full 15.625-inch diameter prop with the XR SPORTMASTER SHORTY, the cavitation plate must be removed.

The Lab Finish process includes wedging the leading edge, so the prop cuts into the water verses were chopping; the blades are thinner in areas while maintaining the integrity and the trailing edge cup height is modified all to gain 300RPM.  Because of the 300PRM gain consideration should be given to increase 2 inches of pitch over a stock Maximus.  If moving from the Bravo 1 Lab Finished propeller to the Lab Finished Maximus move 2 inches of pitch down and to the 15.25-inch diameter.  Example, if moving from a 15.25 inch X 32 Lab Finished Bravo 1, use the 15.25 inch X 30 Lab Finished Maximus.

The full 15.625-inch diameter works the best with high X, stepped V hulls with notched transom.  In some cases, if the transom is lifting at WOT with the long tube, consider using the short tube typically settling the stern and offering 2-3 mph increase.
