Marine environments place rigorous demands on every component of the ignition system, especially your distributor. Torture tested with a combination of water spray, salt exposure, full throttle acceleration and harsh vibrations to minimize failure and down time. The MSD Pro-Billet Distributor is the strongest and most accurate distributor you can put in your boat. CNC machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum for maximum strength with no porosity or weak areas. Internally, each distributor uses MSD race proven magnetic pickup to trigger the ignition control. The mechanical advance assembly is easy to adjust so you can dial-in your ignition curve to match your boat application. For marine use, the distributor cap is bolted and sealed to the aluminum base with dual flame arrestors machined into the base of the distributor to prevent ignition of gas fumes in the bilge. A special weathertight connector is supplied to provide a positive-lock, heat resistant, and watertight seal that plugs directly into the MSD 6M-2 or 7ML-2 Ignition. All Marine Pro-Billet Distributors have been tested by the Underwriter Laboratories and are certified to meet or exceed safety standards for marine ignition systems as set by the U.S. Coast Guard.
